Dr. Self received the 2011-2012 EMPSF/SAEM Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Research Fellowship Grant. He recently shared some of his research findings on a patient safety initiative to minimize blood culture contamination in the ED at the 1st Annual Patient Safety Summit held on May 5th and 6th in Las Vegas.
