EMPSF seeks to identify the -underlying causes of medical error and patient dissatisfaction in the
ED and effect the necessary changes to -improve patient safety. EMPSF provides:

Education
Provide educational programs for emergency medicine physicians, nurses, allied health care providers, medical students, and residency programs.

Research
Design, fund, conduct, and publish patient safety research studies in the field of emergency medicine independently or in collaboration with partners.

Resource Repository
Develop and maintain an emergency medicine resource directory for physicians, nurses, allied health care providers, hospitals, and patients.

Patient Advocacy
Promote patient safety awareness through public education and patient advocacy programs.
